is present. People wishing to use the Library, even if already
registered, are advised to contact the Librarian by phone or by email in
advance to check that their visit is possible. University staff and theology students at UKC and at CCCU have borrowing rights. They should bring some official identification such as their University Library Card. For external borrowing others may apply for borrowing facilities by stating, in a letter, their reasons for needing to borrow. Letters should be addressed either to the Librarian or to the Chairman of the Library Committee at the address above and should be supported by a recommendation from a person of recognised status. For reference use applications should be made to the Librarian (either personally or by post or telephone) stating the reason or subject. |

| Brief Description of Library and its services: | The Library was established in 1973, with the founding of the Study Centre, but its collections incorporate books from earlier Franciscan Libraries. The stock is mainly in the fields of theology & philosophy and has special collections of Franciscana and works relating to the Holy Land (the former Holy Land Centre Library forming the foundation of the latter). Other strengths are mediaeval philosophy and theology, patristics, and Catholic history. Classification scheme: Library of Congress, somewhat modified by the Lynn Peters system. | ||
